On February 18, partly offline from Tatarov (Ivano-Frankivsk region) partly online, the IV Coordination Meeting of the Steering Committee of the PIMReC project "Adaptation of the former observatory on Mount Pip Ivan to the needs of the mountain rescue training center", implemented with the financial support of the European Union Poland - Belarus - Ukraine 2014 - 2020.
The meeting was attended by grant holders - representatives of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, headedby the project coordinator, Rector Ihor Tsependa and the head of the PIMReC infrastructure group, Vice-Rector of PrecarpathianUniversity Yaroslav Shynkaruk, project partners from SES in Ivano-Frankivsk region Mykola Burlak, partners from the Bieszczady Voluntary Mountain Rescue Group (GOPR) and partners headed by the project manager from the Mountain Voluntary Rescue Service - Bieszczady Group Karolina Kiwior, as well as partners from the University of Warsaw headed by Jan Malicki , the director of Eastern European Studiumof the University of Warsaw .
Representatives of the Joint Technical Secretariat of the Cross-Border Cooperation Program "Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2014-2020" and contractors who will perform the construction and other works at the Observatory were invited to participate in the event.
The meeting was also attended by the Consul General of Ukraine in Krakow Vyacheslav Voynarovsky and the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Lviv Mrs Eliza Dzvonkiewicz.
At the PIMReC Steering Committee, the partners devoted a lot of time to discussthe ways of further implementation, to make changes in the plans and budget of the project, caused by the extension of the project until December 22, 2022 in connection with the pandemic.
The second half of the first day of the Coordination Meeting was devoted to the discussion of the training of rescue services of Ukraine and Poland.
Mykola Burlak, Deputy Head of the SES in Ivano-Frankivsk region, Taras Brynda, Head of the Fourth Specialized Search and Rescue Group of the SES in Ivano-Frankivsk region, and Karolina Kiwor, Project Manager from the Mountain Voluntary Rescue Service, took part in the discussion.
In particular, Karolina Kiwor spoke about the intentions of Polish partners to hold the next Information Day of the project in Bieszczady in the summer during the peak tourist season.
The rescuers and project managers also agreed on ways to disseminate the results of joint work.
