The working meeting of Ukrainian-Polish experts on the restoration of the Astronomical Observatory on Mount Pip Ivan was held in Mykulychyn.
Jan Malicki - Director of the Center for Eastern European Studies of Warsaw University, Ihor Tsependa- Rector of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Volodymyr Chernetsky - Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Ivano-Frankivsk region, scientists and experts summed up the work of the past year and identified the priority areas for the jubilee of the Observatory in 2018.
The several international projects were implemented during the last year.
Due to this fact the planned reconstruction was carried out and the rescue unit with the relevant conditions of service for the State Emergency Service was opened.
There was joint Ukrainian-Polish rescuers training, followed by acquisition of specific assets and equipment.
In 2018, a number of new projects that bring enthusiasts closer to the second opening of the Observatory and will increase the safety of tourists in the mountains had been planned.
