Rector of the Precarpathian National University named after Vasyl Stefanyk, - Igor
Tsependa, introduced progress of the Project “Adaptation of former observatory on the Pip Ivan mountain to the needs of alpine rescue service training center“ (PIMReC) that is
being implemented under financial assistance of the European Union within cross-border
cooperation Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2014-2020, to the participants of International
Scientific Conference “90 Years Anniversary of Polish Eastern Studies - the Past, the
Present, the Future”.
Rector of the Precarpathian National University, - Igor Tsependa participated in two-day
International Scientific online Conference “90 Years Anniversary of Polish Eastern Studiesthe Past, the Present, the Future” on the occasion of the 30th Anniversary, Centre for East European Studies of the University of Warsaw, - Partner of the Precarpathian
National University in implementation of the project for restoration of the Observatory on
Pip Ivan mountain (Popivan), as well as 90 years after establishment of the Research and
Development East European Institute in Vilnius, 100 Years after Establishment of the
Association for Approaching of the Recovered Nations and Pre-War Interests in the East/
He congratulated the honoured institutions with the anniversaries and told about history
and the present of mutual projects.
In particular, Igor Tsependa told about reconstruction of the Observatory on Pip Ivan
mountain and invited all participants of the conference to visit this unique site, as soon as
quarantine restrictions for travel are removed.
The Rector also told about construction of International Meeting Center for Students of
Ukraine and Poland (IMC) in Precarpathian village Mykulychyn.
This is a satellite project of the International Scientific Center “the Observatory”. And it is
also a common concept of the Precarpathian National University and the University of
Warsaw. The International Meeting Center is under construction by the Precarpathian
National University. The Initiators account for assistance of Polish partners as of
technological infrastructure of this project.
