Minister of Education visited the Observatory

August 5, 2017, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Liliia Hrynevych and Chair of the Committee on Culture and Spirituality of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mykola Kniazhytskyi visited the International scientific centre “Observatory” on Pip Ivan. The delegation became acquainted with the state of the ongoing restoration work and the prospects of scientific activity at the building, the property of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

The restoration of the observatory on Pip Ivan will promote the development of Ukrainian science and improve international relations, as Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Liliia Hrynevych said at the 4th Carpathian democracy forum, held on August 4-5, 2017. She also made it clear that the Ministry of Education and Science would provide its utmost support for the implementation of this important project for Ukrainian science and education. She added that the Ministry of Education and Science would do its best to make it possible for universities to renew their astronomical and meteorological observations on the premises as well as explore the flora and fauna of Carpathian National Natural Park, the ecology of the region, etc.

In his turn, Chair of the Committee on Culture and Spirituality of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mykola Kniazhytskyi promised to contribute to this important humanitarian and cultural project. Impressed by what he had seen, he wished the enthusiasts of the restoration, namely Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University and the University of Warsaw, success in the realization of their ideas.
